where has the time gone?

it's already February!

I had today off- it felt so nice being able to do normal things around the house.

made some thangs to go around the house, did some laundry, vacummed, dusted my shelves...
.

all while listening to the smith's

it was great.

I made a garland.

And then I hung it above my bed.

folded ben's shirts.  stacked them all pretty- like.

I'm still working on Hella Haus' website.  It's a bit hard- I'm not so very good at these things- I think I rather just have some techy-savy friend set me up with something nice and clean, anyone want to volunteer??

We need to do some powder coating on our first strong piece and we are very excited about sharing it.

Speaking of shoes- Totokaelo (snapshot of store above) just opened up there new storefront in Capitol Hill.  They were located in Belltown before, but the new layout is pretty sharp- extremely spacious, I walked in there and thought I had just entered a spaceship.  I first noticed their shoe display, there seems to be this trend going on... Another semi-new shop located in the same neighborhood, Kaledoscopic Vision has a very similar-almost identical shoe display-although, I have to say they have been open a bit longer and let me tell you, those girls know how to party!  They were servin up the tequila on cinco de mayo- and collecting a random, song-request...it was fantastic + the shop is pretty awesome, lots of treasures in there.  Capitol Hill was in need of a place like this- affordable vintage-finds instead of walking into Value Village restraining yourself from the horrible b.o. smell.  This type of shoe-shop display, contemporary, clinical, fictive world-inspired retail interior has been around for a while.  Remember, contemporary art photographer, Andreas Gursky's, Prada I in 1996?  Check it, below.

I love love love- the eyeliner on the outside of your bottom lashline as oppose to the inside of your lashline.  oh, her hair is pretty legit too.

would like to have industrial shelving like this in my closet.

inside the home of fashion designer, Alex Hercovitch.

I have this exact garden table set.  It was a hand me down from ben's grandmother pappas, still in it's original green color, but I like how Lucy painted her's red.

The handmade glasshouse is wonderful as well.  It seems like she collected miscellaneous reclaimed windows and arranged them into this unique looking backyard hut, I love it.

currently obsessed with pattern on pattern, mismatched, and nineties.  photographer and good friend, will miller and I played in the studio again.  here is the lovely Damaris dressed in floral from head to toe.  pretty and static. subdued, but fun.

The snow is now melting.  Oh, that was fun though.  It is very slushy now and RAINY.  This weekend should be fun though, last minute sledding, the market, some running around the neighborhood, maybe some hot yoga and possibly the hot springs with some friends...I also want to be spending some time in the studio.   I've been looking at Marimekko NONSTOP.  It's fresh.  I'm really needing to get something, that Kuma tunic above is simply lovely.

Nothing better than clean, fresh smelling linen.

love. love. loveeee how this image speaks about the space of this room.  It's pretty rare to find rooms like this, where you step down into your bedroom, the floor feels light and the room feels airy.  Very refreshing.  Breathable.

Song is amazing. Highest rated comments are absurd.

whew!

I think I've mentioned Seattle's own, Iacoli & McAllister, so pardon if I have...but I can't help it, their stuff amazes me. such as the above image, their Panca, Italian for bench. simply put. And I absolutely love when Jamie tells her little story about her remembrance of using a panca while watching her grandfather work...it makes the product so much more interesting. and I want to have it. like now.
..

As a side note, Kate Quinn Organics from Kirkland, WA will be on zulily tomorrow! Please check out her product. It is adorable.

it's been a busy, busy month! as things get busier (and will!) I will probably commit in posting up once every week. depending on time or what not. i hope everyone's fall beginnings are great...it has been really nice to see the color of the leaves change and turn, I'm loving every minute of it!

inspired by these mustard leggings, I wore my mustard nylons with a khaki skirt to work today, even though it was brrr. cold. although, it would be A LOT nicer to have these 100% wool jersey leggings with leather knee panels. i die for pixie. ! their new stuff is all amazing.

one thing i'm absolutely loving about the new yoga studio i'm going to is the natural daylight coming in through the windows in the back of the studio. even at night time, my instructor lights candles and has lights all over the trees in the garden, it is so beautiful and make the class so much more alive.

jennifer at Haute Yoga in Queen Anne is fabulous.

I'm in love with open spaces and basic furniture pieces. Windows should be open at all times of the year, how else are we able to stay in contact with world outside if curtains or blinds are shut? Though, the burst of light coming in reminds me of Spring coming. I'm ready for it to arrive already.

have you heard of Apartmento Magazine?

Might be my newest interior magazine favorite by the looks of it...

.

.

Unlike, many...American interior magazines might I add:

"Apartamento is not that kind of magazine that tells you what furniture you should buy or how you should decorate your flat. It’s quite the other way around: this Spanish-Italian venture is all about having a glimpse at how people organise their daily environment."

They do indeed shoot interiors of those living in bigger cities such as NYC, who work in a fairly, creative field. And most do tend to have a smaller space, which is common living in the big city. Apartamento's visuals seems to show how that space is managed. Read more on Apartamento on Shift.Jp. So, no more tidy interiors. Thank Goodness. Get with the real mundo, people...next time I let some photographer drop inside my home, I'll make sure not to worry and not tidy much. More post-materialist interiors magazines please.

A couple bloggers that I have love for >in respect for their interior eye is:
The Selby, he's from LA, but he is amazing.
Fine Little Day, Sweden.
Les Zigouis, France.

Sadly, I'll miss you Mr. Canon.

As I try to find chairs for my lonely dining table, I'm still not sure where and which ones I will decide to get. Obviously, if you haven't guessed, I need something remarkably affordable, and on the other hand, I came across these chairs, but what am I doing? I need stools! I have a bar-height table...any ideas? I have one chair, but need 3 more....would like them to be all different too.
