my friends ali & mike are getting married next year.
them two are adorable.
from Minnesota.
and both lovely.
..
.
Yeah, say that out loud...Meeee-nehh-ssooodddaaa.

.
we made a girls trip to Portland this past weekend with Ali to
try on some dresses and do girly things.  I'm so happy I went!  I love going dress shopping,
especially with a friend who's getting married!
 the two dress shops
..
.
I didn't have my camera with me at the English Department, but managed to take some photos on my iphone- who knows if you'd notice the difference.
They carry crazy, lovely designers from Jenny Yoo to Ivy & Aster.
The dresses that Ali tried on were all very STUNNING.  she looked STUNNING!
I was reminiscing, for sure.

Stunning Ali.

 In love with hair pieces.
I would collect them if I could and decorate
my home with them, is that weird?

(our Ali was inside the fitting room, while I was taking this photo-btw) !

we got to stay at Hotel Monaco, downtown Portland.

unbelievable.  I was blown away by the decor - utterly strange, but beautiful nonetheless.
fancy and entirely unique.  they had a duck-legged lamp!
cute little bronze waddle feet, I wanted to take him home with me. he'd fit really nice next to my sofa on top of our side table, we need a lamp there-  everytime I want to eat a snack and watch some TV, I get crumbs all over cause we have no available light there!
okay, on another note- those bed sheets!  gnarly, right?
I like them so much- I think because they remind me of my sweet VEGAS!   Did I just type, my sweet vegas?  uh, I guess I did.
Okay!
Right?  The lights and such-  I don't know if I'd actually get them, but they are real-cool.

 .
And of course, all the shopping in Portland.

raddddd.

Brought back all sorts of goodies.

I wish most of it was from Una.  because.  holy shit,
I love the stuff they carry in their store.

Ate at Screen Door for brunch, of course.

.

Now, back home in Seattle.

Back at it -  at work and loving every minute.
..
.
This girl was such a cutie- and into it like I've never seen before.
She had all these surprise poses that came with every flash in her
little jazzercise dance-wear.
bustin those moves out like it was nothing!  like a pro.
Did I mention she is 4½?

Yeah.
4 years old.
.
It made my work day-

Happy Monday.

la femme

From the collection Fortnight Lingerie based out of Canada.  Beautiful pieces.

.

I've been into this lingerie, boudoir feel more and more everyday.  Who knows, maybe because I know I'm not getting any younger, so I should show off my curves while I still can, right?  okay, gym tomorrow morning 5am.
Fortnight.  It's so femme, so lady, so elegant and sexy.  girly yet matured.  classic.
Oh, Jolene, keep an eye out for some more of these images here on cp.
.
Also, I've been in the middle of updating/re-doing my portfolio at jplana-anderson.com, so please check back later for more updates.

Styled by:  Gènevieve Eliard

There is this sort of elegancy behind this image that makes me like it so damn much.  A collection called L'Eclipse by Genevieve Eliard-  constructed beautifully.

Sensuality.  Detail.

.

I was reading this photo article the other day from this photographer and remembered this quote, "Details work best when no matter what the subject is, its something you really care about.  If you aren't showing the details, you're really not into it.  The details are in the heart"

So true.

Labor Day weekend?  How was yours?  Mine consisted of relaxation- time to self.  My brain slowed down, which felt SO. incredibly. Nice.  Sometimes with work- it's non-stop.  It's nice to take time to remember your body, take care of yourself!  I went running.  Visited my baby nephew.  Did projects around the house.  Went to the market.  Went to the Rose Garden.  Hung out with girlfriends. Went shopping.  It Felt Good.  I went and sat down and actually got my make-up done by this fun little blonde gal, her name was Kasey and she freelances for Sunday Riley at Barney's downtown Seattle.  That's something which I haven't done in years!  Actually, walk into Barney's and check out their new shit.  Woah?  Last time I got to do that- well.  I can't quite remember.  And, yeez.  It felt so nice.  Sunday Riley's tinted primer is what amazed me, it makes my skin glowww.  Did I purchase it?  Hell no!  But I wore it and by the time I got home a couple hrs. later- my skin was rockin- too bad I had to wipe it all off.  I got home late and anyway, I couldn't go out anywhere, I wouldn't have woken up for work this morning!

Last month when Stella McCartney showed her Resort 13' collection,
all her models wore Sunday Riley.

Yesterday was the 43rd day without measurable rain in Seattle.  The record is 51 days in 1951!  It's supposed to hit 90 degrees this Saturday! Looks like it's going to make a great Anniversary weekend.  Woot Woot!

Speaking of shoes- Totokaelo (snapshot of store above) just opened up there new storefront in Capitol Hill.  They were located in Belltown before, but the new layout is pretty sharp- extremely spacious, I walked in there and thought I had just entered a spaceship.  I first noticed their shoe display, there seems to be this trend going on... Another semi-new shop located in the same neighborhood, Kaledoscopic Vision has a very similar-almost identical shoe display-although, I have to say they have been open a bit longer and let me tell you, those girls know how to party!  They were servin up the tequila on cinco de mayo- and collecting a random, song-request...it was fantastic + the shop is pretty awesome, lots of treasures in there.  Capitol Hill was in need of a place like this- affordable vintage-finds instead of walking into Value Village restraining yourself from the horrible b.o. smell.  This type of shoe-shop display, contemporary, clinical, fictive world-inspired retail interior has been around for a while.  Remember, contemporary art photographer, Andreas Gursky's, Prada I in 1996?  Check it, below.

would like to have industrial shelving like this in my closet.

inside the home of fashion designer, Alex Hercovitch.

I have this exact garden table set.  It was a hand me down from ben's grandmother pappas, still in it's original green color, but I like how Lucy painted her's red.

The handmade glasshouse is wonderful as well.  It seems like she collected miscellaneous reclaimed windows and arranged them into this unique looking backyard hut, I love it.

currently obsessed with pattern on pattern, mismatched, and nineties.  photographer and good friend, will miller and I played in the studio again.  here is the lovely Damaris dressed in floral from head to toe.  pretty and static. subdued, but fun.

I miss the 90's.

flannel, note passing, telephone calls, cigarettes, scrunchies, dyed hair, concerts, crowd surfing, recklessness, the 90's ruled and went by way too fast.  RIP 90's.

Had a lazy weekend (see above), but it was plentiful and relaxing.  Now back at the office at full attack.
Next weekend, we might say hi to Portland, will find out later this week...keep your fingers crossed!

The snow is now melting.  Oh, that was fun though.  It is very slushy now and RAINY.  This weekend should be fun though, last minute sledding, the market, some running around the neighborhood, maybe some hot yoga and possibly the hot springs with some friends...I also want to be spending some time in the studio.   I've been looking at Marimekko NONSTOP.  It's fresh.  I'm really needing to get something, that Kuma tunic above is simply lovely.

Nothing better than clean, fresh smelling linen.

love. love. loveeee how this image speaks about the space of this room.  It's pretty rare to find rooms like this, where you step down into your bedroom, the floor feels light and the room feels airy.  Very refreshing.  Breathable.

Seattle has snow!  I got to spend a lovely snow day yesterday with my Ben...we made snowmen and played in the snow.  It was very nice.  It has gotten a bit icy though, which makes it difficult to drive. A lot of power outages, trees falling as well, stay safe people.  On the bright side, it's been actually kind of nice to see people walking a lot rather than driving.  I'd much rather walk than drive.

I'm so lucky to be working with such lovely kids in the studio.  This little lady here in particular is my favorite.  Her name is Zoe.  And she is a doll.  I styled the brand, Right Bank Babies on her about a week ago, it is live up on Zulily today...great product and the quality is outstanding.
