Eunice Kennedy Shriver dies at age 88. Pictured above in 1953, the same year she was married to Robert Sargent Shriver Jr. who founded the Peace Corps, Eunice was part of one of most prominent families of America, the Kennedy's. Founder of Special Olympics, she was extremely active and dedicated tremendous hope and change for many.

Does this book look familiar at all? Well, if it does...you might of already seen 500 Days of Summer.

Not every movie can have a happy ending. This is that kind of movie.

I think it was a good film, but not great. Its a little complicated, for me at least.

Zooey & Mary

Commonly known as the “Indie Queen”, Zooey Deschanel sure has proved to everyone that not only does she have a real up-beat sense of style, but with that also comes her success in the entertainment industry. Both of Zooey's parents were already in the industry from the very beginning, her mother is an actress and her father is a Hollywood Cinematographer. So, with that in mind, it really wasn't hard for Zooey to get her foot in the door. Though what is most recognizable about her is that she started acting in a lot of Independent Films, which received a lot of attention that automatically considered Zooey as a strong, independent self-motivated actress. Along with being an amazing actress, surely enough Zooey is very multi-talented. She also sings with M.Ward in the band, She & Him, a much more beautiful, old-fashioned way of performing with very little machine, and more hand. This shows more so how Zooey might be compared to the classic actresses of early Hollywood during the Golden Era. The best part about it is that Zooey doesn't even really try, it just so happens that she carries that natural eminence in her. Her very classy, yet elegant persona can be seen and reminded throughout beauties of back in the day such as Elizabeth Taylor, Louise Brooks, or Audrey Hepburn. She was also nominated for Best Actress in 2003 for the Independent Spirit Awards (aka the Anti-Oscars). Also in 2003, Zooey did her own singing in the film Elf with Will Ferrell. As of right now, Zooey is currently engaged to Ben Gibbard, singer from Death Cab for Cutie and Postal Service's musician. As MTV had put it, they might just be possibly the First Couple of Indie Rock. She also is continuing to record and write for She & Him and preparing for her upcoming role in the film 500 Days of Summer, which will be out in August of this Summer, so keep your heads up for that new release!

A lot of the prints that are on her clothing were showcased of the original paintings at her booth at the Pool Trade Show. As the lady, puts it herself, “Really sexy in an unobvious way.” That’s the trick in which Mary creates with her line. You really need to try the garment on, walk around a little bit in it and check yourself out in the mirror. And if you feel good than you look good, and Mary Meyer Clothing holds that point very truly.

Why?
..

She's brilliant.

I remember in junior high school, my friends were in love with her as I started to become...it was and is because she is amazing!

I was cooking dinner tonight, listening to a talk show with her, and made me remember how much I do love her.

Not only is she a lovely actress, talented and warm hearted. She has a great sense of personality just from listening to her outside of film. Coming from such an essential American acting family, though broken by her upcoming, she still remains exceptional in all of her films. She is so dedicated to her acting profession and takes all of her past with great appreciation to have had the opportunity to be part of such a creative acting family.

Like, "for real" as she sometimes says.

Drew grew up watching classic films. I mean, obviously at a young age she started with E.T. (the greatest movie ever! ...as a kid) and it was then, when Steven Spielberg became her Godfather. He would show Drew all the classics, and it just grew on her from then.
I mean, serious lee imagine cooking dinner with the tube on and a classic comes on and ohhp, theres your family. Thats her connection, thats what makes her love what she does. I know with me, whenever I learn more and more about my family and what they've gone through, or what they've experienced in life-long situations, it makes me want to follow that in a way. I'm deeply attached and everyday I want to learn a little bit more about my family. With Drew, it wasn't a suprise that her grandparents were arguably the most admirable actors in their generation, its with her all the time and she is so damn good at it!
Deep, meaningful, lifechanging...all these things are part of what a good film is.

I know E.T. was incredible for me as a kid watching and growing up with it with my brother, I mean, I still own the VHS.

As Drew would put it, "Unorthodox Love stories, no sexual contentation, its about love." Like, period.

May be it is because she was raised with these type of movies that makes her such a good person, the old classics she says were a bit more ubiquitous. They were more around, its true...you know as much as a lot of people disliked my film instructor in college, he's completely right, theres so many horrible films that are made today...but then again, yes there are some good new ones.

Rent some classics for a change though, invite some friends over, pop some pop corn, enjoy what film was started out to be for.

In Tokyo, there is a neighborhood named Nakameguro and its supposed to be one of the HIPPEST neighborhoods around to date. Popular for its bars and restaraunts, cafes, real laid-back vibe in Nakameguro.
I mean just look at this picture...
The dude is selling coffee and lattes out of his old cream-colored vintage Citroen.

Nakameguro has what I love.

This new museum (a $23.5 million museum!) settles in of course, Chocolate Avenue in Hershey, Pa. Located down the street where Milton S. Hershey built his factory in 1903. It recently just opened in January. It has interactive interactive photos, and maps....you can even roll your own truffle in sprinkles!.

Talking about all the gardening with Spring starting up today....
The Obama's are planning to make a vegetable garden as well! One lucky elementary school got chosen in the area to help.
It'll be called, The White House Vegetable Garden. And these kids along with many other helpers including the White House staff and the Obama's themselves will be contributing. This will be the first time The White House will have ever had a garden since Eleanor Roosevelt's, "Victory Garden" which was built during World War II. That did lead a lot of other's to build their own victory garden's....hopefully this vegetable garden will do the same!

Oh, Willy Wonka!

Today, before I left to work I was listening to NPR's last 'Day to Day' talk show. Thats right, another sad time for one in closing its run time. Day to Day, hosted by Madeleine Brand, offered world and national news in regards to politics, culture, and technology. Madeleine brought in Willy Wonka's Screenwriter, David Seltzer to give Day to Day a bit of an inside on how to make a happy ending to a show that was important not only to the host herself, but to all of us, listeners. As how he made a happy ending with Willy Wonka, he gave it to us, "They all just lived happily ever after, you, your crew, everyone who does all this good work, lives happily ever after".

As for all of us!

Won't we live happily ever after...its the best ending any can have.
