I made a garland.

And then I hung it above my bed.

oh, Happy President's Day.

JFK, you are still by far the better looking presidents of history.

Just sayin'

28

just turned 28 recently.

it's a rad age, if you haven't tried it.  you should.  I'm 4 days into it and I'm feeling like a superstar.

.

..

I FINALLY set up my itty bitty still life studio downstairs-  it's an incredibly small space to be taking pictures, but it works.

for now, at least.

Just recently got my haircut.  and dyed darker.
This is my mom to the right.  Taken in the 70's, somewhere near Queens, New York.
she is my inspiration for my haircut.
And, this is me and my guy.
28 really makes you feel like a superstar ..

thanks, willy.

snowflakes

Seattle has snow!  I got to spend a lovely snow day yesterday with my Ben...we made snowmen and played in the snow.  It was very nice.  It has gotten a bit icy though, which makes it difficult to drive. A lot of power outages, trees falling as well, stay safe people.  On the bright side, it's been actually kind of nice to see people walking a lot rather than driving.  I'd much rather walk than drive.

I'm so lucky to be working with such lovely kids in the studio.  This little lady here in particular is my favorite.  Her name is Zoe.  And she is a doll.  I styled the brand, Right Bank Babies on her about a week ago, it is live up on Zulily today...great product and the quality is outstanding.

I think I've mentioned Seattle's own, Iacoli & McAllister, so pardon if I have...but I can't help it, their stuff amazes me. such as the above image, their Panca, Italian for bench. simply put. And I absolutely love when Jamie tells her little story about her remembrance of using a panca while watching her grandfather work...it makes the product so much more interesting. and I want to have it. like now.

As a side note, Kate Quinn Organics from Kirkland, WA will be on zulily tomorrow! Please check out her product. It is adorable.

it's been a busy, busy month! as things get busier (and will!) I will probably commit in posting up once every week. depending on time or what not. i hope everyone's fall beginnings are great...it has been really nice to see the color of the leaves change and turn, I'm loving every minute of it!

inspired by these mustard leggings, I wore my mustard nylons with a khaki skirt to work today, even though it was brrr. cold. although, it would be A LOT nicer to have these 100% wool jersey leggings with leather knee panels. i die for pixie. ! their new stuff is all amazing.

how cute is a cup of jo's, Toby's new hat?

Oeuf NYC, you never surprise me. charming.

one thing i'm absolutely loving about the new yoga studio i'm going to is the natural daylight coming in through the windows in the back of the studio. even at night time, my instructor lights candles and has lights all over the trees in the garden, it is so beautiful and make the class so much more alive.

jennifer at Haute Yoga in Queen Anne is fabulous.

i went to the chiropractic today.

man, anatomy itself is just amazing, ain't it?

i think sometimes we take flexibility for granted. i absolutely LOVE being active, running, yoga, cycling, dancing, having fun...doing anything active excites me.

until i get injured.
we got in a bit of a fender-bender this past week. we both are are okay. we're alive. though I need a little worked on. apparently my spine got some 'things' twisted up, 'things' pushed back, and my ribs are hitting some nerves that aren't supposed to be getting hit and well, to say the least. PAINFUL.

did you know that your spinal cord contains nerves that extend out to every part of your body?

it is quite a m a z i n g.
so be kind to your spiney and it'll be friends with you.

and if it doesn't want to be friends with you like right now *ouchh* it'll recuperate.

i'll get better. it's fixable, that's the magical thing.

xx

I missed you.

It was a long, whimsical trip. Adventurus.

And we made it. To our new home. Seattle.

Revealing one story at a time, this has been such a beautiful trip for the both of us. From remembering moments with the ones you love to sharing new moments with the others you love. I saw many things. Many things that I didn't know I was going to see. It was and still is exciting.

Being comfortable is so easy and there is nothing wrong with being at ease, but not knowing what there is out there should be inspiring and is, to me at least. To have a spirit of eagerness is rewarding. So, hi! I'm back, cheers to life !

i'm inspired by creative people. creative advancement.

some people may be harsh and pass on judgment on these people because well, ultimately we are all over the place. we don't like one thing. we like many things.

and i'm proud of it.

Clever. This has to be the most amazing entrance to a patio. Right from the kitchen.

Very welcoming. Just a simple way to bring warmth to your home.

In the heart of Vasastan. It gets even better.

enuff, lets escape.

For those of you who have been keeping up with my blog, you can probably by now be well assured that I am in love with anything that is of Scandinavian style (both classic & modern). The way the interior plays with natural light, I'm obsessed with. For this home in particular (featured on skonahem), I like how they've brought in the same teal color paint on the wooden flooring from another room's wall paint color. The way they have connected each part of the home all together is just really intriguing. In another room, they have black and white striped wall paper and in the living room they bring in the pattern again by having black and white striped pillows on the sofa, it's really inviting when you see hints of familiarity around a person's house. Have you ever been to a friend's house where each room were distinctively different? Like completely. Well, it's that type of feeling where you don't feel as if everything is that much more relaxed. But more so, just, "please don't go in that room, it's a bit of a mess." This might not be such a great example for the average person's home *ppkmm*, but even if it's just a little niche you see that is somehow connected to somewhere else inside, that's what makes a home unique and comfortable.

i cannot stand when bloggers write their post title on any particular Friday, "Oh, happy, happy Friday" It drives me insane.

Another amazing prop stylist, Sweet Paul.

A child's imagination is my inspiration for sure...but how will you ever figure what he/she is really thinking? It holds us responsible to think as we were young once.

Rain chains.

Good vibrations. We should all feel those. May be this yarn laser will lead you to some.

oh, monica. you always amaze me. been rockin it so long and u still got it. check monica canilao's recent show photos up on fecalface.

with frost, please.

one thing, i can't live without is confetti.

i think when we move, which probably is the end of this summer, or early Fall....our going away party's overall theme will be confetti. we'll just have a ton of colored bits thrown around at each other, it's going to be fettiabulous.

*A knitted world. Imagine that.

* I'm getting really annoyed of door-to-door soliciting. They freak me out. I don't want your Vietnamese discount take-out flyer, please just chill. But then again, I refuse to put any sign up that says, "no soliciting" cause I mean that's just dumb.

*Toxic water. Read about it.

art is bizarre

Do you think it's possible to turn your 250sq.ft. garage into a mini-living space? Seattle-based artist, Michelle de la Vegas sure thought it was and she successfully did. Everything was custom built or salvaged, the structure was raised about 4ft, which helped her fit her bed into the crafty loft space she built. Her background in mixed media assemblage, sculpture, and installation really helped her manage to create this incredible space. Read her bio, here. Michelle was recently featured in NY Times as well.

East African-inspired design by New York label, Suno. I love these fitted high waist shorts I've been seeing everywhere, extra loose on the thigh area..so comfortable and converted into a perfect onesie. Its like Ann Taylor on the bottom half, but a fully-acclaimed techno-version of it. Suno's Fall/Winter 2010 collection is melting...check it.

J.I. Rodale is who we should stand behind when purchasing organic food. Rodale civilized the organic movement way long before it became a social trend. A new book released just this past March, Organic Manifesto: How Organic Farming Can Heal Our Planet, Feed the World, and Keep Us Safe written by Maria Rodale (granddaughter of J.I. Rodale) gives us a glimpse on how we can live a healthier lifestyle by eating organic. There are many reasons behind eating organic. One example is the regulations on safe exposure of chemicals by the government, which is essentially bias. There has been evidence that even a small dose can be just as toxic as large doses.
